Properties of 6082 Aluminum Sheet/Coil
Alloy 6082 is typically supplied as plate and sheet from Pentagon Aluminium it is an aluminum primarily alloyed with silicon and manganese. The addition of manganese controls the grain structure which in turn results in a stronger alloy. The most common tempers for 6082 aluminum are O, T4, T6 and T651 and 6082 is slightly higher mechanical properties in the T6 condition when bending or forming. Pentagon Aluminum alloy 6082 also corresponds to EN AW-6082 and AA 6082 standard designations and specifications but may not be a direct equivalent.

Features and Applications of 6082 Aluminum Sheet/Coil
Typical material properties for 6082 aluminum alloy include weld ability, braze ability, solder ability as well as machine ability. Besides, alloy 6082 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. So various commercial joining methods (welding, brazing, etc.) can be easily applied to 6082 alloy. Since 6082 is a heat treatable alloy, strength will be reduced in the weld region. 6082 aluminum sheet and plate are typically formed by rolling.
